First Day of Free Travel!
And we started it at the Soanes Museum

Then Kelsey, Kate, and I went to Covent Garden. . . What a great place!

                                                                             Wouldnt it be loverly?

Then I took a look at the Somerset House and a few galleries there, walked along the river, saw the Modern art wing I missed at the Tate Modern.  .  .

. . . crossed the "Harry Potter" Bridge and made my way over to St. Pauls
walking towards it was one of the best experiences

St Paul's is really one of the Most Perfect and powerful building I have ever seen.

I also enjoyed a beautiful relaxing walk through the park. . . look at those colors!

And if today could not get any better I saw my Favorite Musical Ever!!!!!!!

What fun this show is!!! I was smiling laughing and was lighthearted the whole time

Everything was so Magical! I want to do film so badly!!

What a great start to a great week

This sunday, there were three girls in young women's
and we had our lesson outside on the grass

and later a nice gentlemen named George gave a fireside here in the London center
It was about WWII and his experiences as a child

but most of our sunday was spent studying for our history midterm. . .

Which we took today at 11 o'clock
Wahoooo! yeah I love history!

Then a few of us made our way to the National Portrait Gallery

Now I know I have said this about 42 times- but this was like looking at a history book
Just about every portrait in every history book was here!!

Then with the few minutes before dinner MaCall, Kelsey, and I decided to just chill out at
Trafalgar Square

This morning we hit the market!
Borough Market

MaCall, Kate, Kelsey, Alissa, and I all had a Kangaroo burger. Kinda sweet, and tougher then cow
We had all kinds of yummy treats and samples

We then made our way over to Harrods
My goodness this was out of a movie!

I now know what it is like to be famous or rich . . .

We all had fun looking at the price tags of the name brand items all around us

And feeling a little under styled and dressed. . .
But do not worry. I found my section of the store . . . the Lego and Harry Potter section!!

Even the building itself is amazing and all-out fancy

This photo is for my Dad

After talking with one of the Harrods porters we walked around London till we reached the
Victoria and Albert Museum

This collection is so obscure- and amazing! It had a little bit of everything. Kelsey, Kate, and MaCall called it a day and I was left to explore all the nooks and crannys of this building.

I found the most amazing things
such as this Chippendale Book

Sketches by Inigo Jones

and stuff from
Robert Adams
James Gibbs
Josiah Wedgewood
George Hepplewhite
Thomas Sheraton
and many many others

Not to menton the beautiful art, clothing, or historical objects

I then braved London and its underground and made it back

Just in time for me find a Hunger Games poster in some random store!

We started our day with entering the Largest Gothic Cathedral North of the Alps

And my goodness was is Beautiful
The stones were so well carved and well cleaned
Everything was crisp and light

We were then free to wander York

We dared to go farther then we had the day before and what we found made us love York even more

Everyone who lived there knew each other
there were so many little crooked streets streets winding every which way
and there were the most energetic cute pockets and markets all across town

The last stop on our Northern Trip was Fountains Abbey

This place cannot be photographed or filmed well enough to show what it is like

This truly was one of my most favorite Two hours of my life

I wandered all across the ruins doing what ever I wanted going where ever I wanted
We were free to explore
The ruins gave me the opportunity to not only see how these great buildings were made,
but to get up close and personal with it
while wandering Instead of using "doors" or "entrances"
I used windows, cracks, ledges, and all other sorts of things to get around

I really got my climb on

This place is better then any playground

(and totally reminded me of Uncharted or Assassins!)
We got such a fun tour of the Royal Mile and then the Castle
From a Man in a Kilt no less!
This was such a fun experience to see first hand a castle on a hill. Just like my play-set or ones I made in the sand as a little girl. . . or rather two years ago
It was a great way to start our day, however we had just a few hours more in Edinburgh!
But somehow we fit in all of our shopping, eating, and site seeing
I believe we went in just about every tourist shop possible. . .
Their meatball sandwiches here are made with a type of salsa like stuff. . . Really good. . .

And then after a  coach ride, we were in YORK!
And York Minster is one of the most impressive buildings I have ever seen
I truly love it so much.  I was  blown away and lost my breath when
I turned around the corner and there it was
We got to walk around a bit and grab a bite to eat
I got a Pear Gorgonzola Pizza that was to die for

Also we went to a place called Chocolate
the place was fantastic with its perfectly crisp clean beautiful interior and its ethereal music
I even wanted to buy everything in the store
It is always nice when you start the day with a Hike!
We went all over and got to explore some of the most amazing sites. Places that they used to view years ago!
But soon we were on the Coach again. . . and after waking up I saw that we had made our way to Edinburg
Birthplace of Harry Potter! And being here I think I know how J K got here inspiration
Its a busy modern sort of place, full of history, castles, and gardens
 I loved having "mountains" again
Spinach, Chicken, Bacon, Gorgonzola
We all hiked up to Arthur's Seat. It was quite the climb- and extremely worth it
It is like Edinburgh's Eiffel Tower of sorts

Then we were off to our Home sweet Hostel.. . .

Wednesday, May 23, 2012

Since our BandB is acutally just a B. . .
We hit the town to get some food
But nothing was open. . . so we just got some grab and go yogurt

First we spent the day in Ambleside at the Dove cottage museum handeling some of their old books
Including Frankenstein, Jane Eyre, Wordsworth, Keats, and a lot of other first additions
 Then of course we ate
And the rest of our day was filled with Hiking. What else would one do in the Lake District?
This place is so different than any other then I have seen before
 I loved every breathtaking moment. .  .   .
There are about 8 different greens, hills as far as you can see, sheep and horses
and yet it smells pleasant
Though it was a bit hot. It is finally feeling like warmer summer weather
We were like Mountain Goats and climbed "every mountain"
So much fun and so much beauty. The adventurer in me was very satisfied
This hike took us a bit farther then we had planed
 So we turned around
And got great food!

And then it was time for our next Hike!
Which was a whole other kind of beauty. . .

Kinda like the Hunger games!!!!
And then we went to a Roman fort foundation ruin. . . . ate some Chinese noodles and
were out like a light!
